This is the reason Vivo wants to increase smartphone production in Indonesia

Vivo will increase the capacity of its smartphone products in Indonesia, if previously there were only hundreds of units, now it has turned into millions of units. This cannot be separated from the increasing demand for Vivo smartphones in Indonesia and this is also the reason for Vivo to increase its production capacity.

The increasing number of the Vivo market is a sign of consumers’ interest in buying Vivo smartphones. This was revealed from the reports of two international research firms, Canalys and IDC.

“The factory expansion this time is to increase production capacity, Vivo is doing as an answer to the challenge demand high product ”said Vivo Indonesia Senior Brand Director, Edy Kusuma.

Vivo Increases Smartphone Production in Indonesia

According to Vivo records, its factories in Indonesia have produced hundreds of thousands of units during 2021. Meanwhile, with the factory and employee expansion plans, the target of own production in 2021 is said to reach millions of units.

Vivo factory in Indonesia is located in Cikupa, Tangerang, Banten, which has been built since 2021. This factory is one of the three largest factories in the world apart from China and India.

Vivo smartphones made in Indonesia also meet the Domestic Component Level (TKDN). Examples such as Vivo S1 Pro where the local component is rated at 32 percent.

As mentioned above, the increase in production is to answer the increasing market demand. Two market research firms, Canalys and IDC, said that the shipment of Vivo smartphones in Indonesia has increased.

Vivo Smartphone Shipments Raised This Year

Research firm Canalys also said that in the Canalys Pulse Market Smartphone research in Q3 2021, shipments of Vivo smartphones increased by 74 percent compared to the same quarter last year.

Vivo also shipped 1.9 million units in the third quarter of this year. Previously, in the third quarter of 2021, the number of Vivo smartphone shipments to Indonesia was 1.1 million units.
