No wonder this modern musical drama is still being discussed today. Because director Damien Chazelle (Whipalsh) is really a genius in making this film.

Besides the choice of a super color palette colorful the songs are fun, the story of this film is arranged in such a way that, La La Land it does look very classy and worth to become an Oscar winning candidate.

11. Sleeping Beauty (2011)

Film indie This is Australia underrated really. Even though the film about the figure of a school girl, Lucy (Emily Browning) who also does various odd and taboo jobs, is very cool and quite provocative.

Take up the theme overdose and sex-trafficking, Sleeping Beauty undeniably Browning’s best performance to date. VERY RECOMMENDED!

10.The Lighthouse (2019)

Film thriller horror director’s work underrated Robert Eggers (The Witch) this if you still remember, hypehas been crazy since it was released in May 2021 at the event Cannes Film Festival.

And when we finally saw the film, we understood why hype-hype it’s really turgid. Because yes the film visually and performance (especially from Robert Pattinson), very artsyand unsettling from start to finish.

Even though endingit’s a bit anti-climactic, but overall The Lighthouse is a minimalist film that produces super maximal quality.

9. Compliance (2012)

Compliance lifted from events phone scamming horrendous experience experienced by a woman employee of McDonald’s in Mount Washington, Kentucky, USA in 2004.

Specifically, in the incident, the figure of a fun and irresponsible caller, David Richard Stewart, worked badly on one of the female employees on duty, Louise Ogborn.

Anyway, at Stewart, tell Louise to obey her wishes such as taking off all her clothes and doing various taboo activities while in her restaurant. And Compliance successfully recreated the insane incident.

And the actress who played Ogborn (who was renamed Becky), dreama Walker (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) is also very good at displaying the emotions and madness that the character feels.

This touch of reality was what made him Compliance, not only became the coolest film in the decade of 2010, but also films that are still seen relatable up to this second.

8. The Babadook (2014)

Initially, many of us were confused, of course. “Babadook? what movie is this? ” And it turns out that when watching, movies indie from Australia this is a horror film suprantural.

And when I watched it too, the film was really crazy. Not only because of the genius of the director, Jennifer Kent (Nightingale). The film’s funk is also factored in by the outstanding performance of its lead actress, Essie Davis (Assassin’s Creed).

Anyway, I don’t want to go any further. You guys just watch it right away. And feel the film yourself. Guaranteed to be sticky in your memory.

7.Contagion (2011)

Oops. Who doesn’t know about this film? Especially during this time of COVID-19, this film, which was made by Steven Soderbergh again, became a super hit.

Of course, as I also explained in the previous 2 points in the Soderbergh film, Contagion again a super Soderbergh film memorable.

This is because Contagion in displaying the symptoms, the spread, as well as the effects of the flu, it is very realistic. Even its realism has been well recognized by all doctors / health scientists concerned.

Oh yes, another factor, also due to the application of conceptual storytelling hyper-linking featured by the film. This means that every character in the film is shown to have a big and significant relationship with one another.
