Warners Bros. wants James Wan to return to be directed by Aquaman 2 - Dafunda.com

Warner Bros. and James Wan are in talks to re-direct the upcoming second sequel to Aquaman.

Deadline reports that even though it will take a considerable amount of time for Warner Bros to secure Wan’s return, he is interested in continuing to build on the big screen story of King of Atlantis. For now, Wan was taking a break while the script was being prepared.

The site then reports the project on hold until the script is complete. But another thing that could lead to failure was Wan’s first look deal with New Line.

However, the hope is that Wan will return to direct the sequel. Such is the case with Patty Jenkins who was brought back for Wonder Woman 1984.

Wan is the only director to have scored billions of dollars at the box office for two different franchises. $ 1.5 billion for the 2021 Universal issue of Furious 7 and $ 1.07 billion currently for Aquaman.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman will star Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus and Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna.
