There is Spider-Man in the Leaked New Morbius Photo
We previously announced that Sony’s Morbius will present references from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This leaked photo is claimed to feature Spider-Man, but it doesn’t look like Tom Holland’s version.
The leaked photo comes from Twitter user @Vullein, he gave another leaked photo that allegedly gave Marvel fans their first look for Jared Leto as the Living Vampire.
This latest image shows Michael Morbius walking through a hallway. Behind it looks like a poster or artwork depicting Spider-Man, with the word “Murderer” painted all over it.
Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man or PS4 Game?
However, much different from previous reports, the Spider-Man seen here doesn’t seem like the incarnation of the MCU character. Instead, Spidey appears to be wearing the famous costume of Tobey Maguire in the Spider-Man film trilogy directed by Sam Raimi.
In fact, many have commented that the image used actually matches that of Rami’s suit from the PS4 video game Spider-Man.
Famous commentator Daniel Richtman claims that Morbius contains a direct reference to the MCU version of Spider-Man that can be integrated into the Marvel Studios universe.
Assuming this new photo leak is for real, the statements that came out earlier are questionable. However, it is not necessarily absent. There are several important points to note.
Just an alternative?
This photo can be of an alternative version of the scene being depicted. This means that the image could be re-edited by inserting a different Spidey image. What’s more, the graffiti writing which means “killer” is a very suitable reference to portray Peter Parker in the film Far From Home who is labeled a criminal.
There are also rumors that JK Simmons, who played Jonah Jamenson in the Spider-Man trilogy, is currently reprising his role for an appearance in Morbius. If that’s the case, it means Sony is still waiting for the green light for Marvel Studios to get the green light from Marvel Studios.
