Ryan Reynolds' Free Guy film is canceled

Disney was optimistic about the release schedule last July, although it does not rule out delays will still occur. Now the Ryan Reynolds film Free Guy is due for release on December 11, 2021.

Disney recently postponed the release of the film Free Guy indefinitely. Since it didn’t announce a new release date, it’s unclear when Free Guy will actually release.

About the Movie Free Guy

The film, directed by Shawn Levy, stars Reynolds as a bank teller named Guy. In his daily life, the bank where Guy works is always attacked and robbed by armed criminals.

This incident did not just happen once, but many times. Why is that? This is because Guy is an NPC (Non Playable Character) character. Just a glimpse of information for those of you who don’t know, NPC characters in a game can be character objects such as humans, animals, robots, etc. that cannot be controlled by the player.

When Guy realizes that he is an NPC, he goes on an adventure for self-discovery and struggles to keep the game alive.

Besides Reynolds, Free Guy also stars Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and the director of Thor: Ragnarok Taika Waititi.

Procrastination Is The Best Way To Avoid Big Losses

Perhaps Free Guy’s delay shouldn’t be that surprising. Especially if you see the number of films that were originally due for release in December 2021, this has also been postponed until next year.

Currently the only major film that still has a December 2021 release date is Wonder Woman 1984 on December 25th. Nonetheless, it seems likely that further delays for WW84 will also be inevitable.

At this point, most studios have decided that it is wise to wait until all theaters reopen and things return to normal.
