How to Fix Windows 10 Failed to Boot
One of the problems that often worries computer users, especially Windows 10 users, is the occurrence of a Windows 10 error when it fails to boot. Many things can cause windows to fail to boot. As it is less than perfect when upgrading to Windows 10, usually this problem will cause Windows 10 to experience a boot loop. And there are many more problems with Windows 10 that cause boot failure.
Other causes of boot failure could be due to:
- Tinkering and wrongly editing the registry,
- Have a virus,
- Rarely defragment partitions,
- Incorrectly installing drivers,
- The computer runs out of battery and shuts down during the Windows Update process
How to Fix Windows 10 Failed to Boot
Problem Preparing Automatic Repair in Windows 10
- Restart your computer, laptop or notebook.
- After the BIOS appears or the brand type and name of your laptop appears, press F8 repeatedly (except Windows 10 cannot use this method because by default the settings for entering safe mode are disabled)
- Then a panel will appear containing many menus.
- Select Safe Mode, don’t select Safe Mode Networking or Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
If this method cannot be resolved, it’s time to take a little tricky step. In this process, you need a CD / DVD cassette or Windows Operating System Flashdisk that matches what you are using. The most important thing is that it has the same type as Ultimate, Professional, Home Basic, Startup, Enterprise, etc. The last case I had, I was already using Windows 10 on a laptop and I used a Windows 8 DVD cassette to solve this problem and it worked. The steps so that your windows can run normally and not looping can follow these steps:
- Turn on your computer or laptop.
- When the BIOS screen appears, press F12 or F2 to change the Boot setting.
- Insert your Windows Master CD / DVD / Flashdisk.
- Change First Boot to CD / DVD. Meanwhile, if you use a flash that contains the Windows OS, change the First Boot to USB.
- Press F10 to SAVE. Restart your computer.
- After restarting, the words’ Press Any Key From Boot to CD / DVD will appear. . . ‘Press any key on your keyboard.
- Wait until you enter the Windows installer, then select Repair Your Computer.
- Wait a few moments, because the computer will check the system first. Click Next.
- Next, a task window will appear which has 5 options for you. You can try them one by one from above except Windows Memory Diagnostics option.
Note: Select Startup Repair if your Windows is still normal. If you have done a backup, please select System Restore. If you have ever performed a restore point image, select System Image Recovery. Otherwise both select the Command Prompt option.
The last option is to use the Command Prompt, a black box will appear like cmd / dos.
Type DIR C: This is to call all data on Local Disk C, especially the system so that it can be accessed and repaired.
Type one of the options below one by one (not all at once), starting at the top first. Then press ENTER.
bootsect.exe / nt60 c:
bootsect.exe / nt60 all
bootrec / fixmbr
bootrec / fixboot
bootrec.exe / rebuildbcd
bootsect / nt60 all / force / mbr
If it says ‘The operation completed succesfully’, please restart the computer. Don’t write all the executable commands above.
This method is mostly successful for how to deal with booting errors in Windows or can’t enter Windows and can only enter the BIOS. If that doesn’t work, you have to reinstall it.
