Michael B. Jordan Producer of Superhero Film Static Shock
The upcoming Warner Bros. live-action superhero film titled Static Shock will be produced by Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan.
For those of you who don’t know, Virgil Hawkin aka Static Shock is one of the superhero characters from DC Comics. He has frequently appeared in animated series such as Young Justice. Despite the success of the animated series, the character has yet to get a live-action adaptation of its own.
But who would have thought, the teenage superhero made fans who watched DC FanDome surprised. During the event, it was revealed that Static Shock will be making its way into a feature film.
Michael B. Jordan Officially Becomes Producer of Live Action Static Shock
Several years ago, WB had tried to develop this superhero film. Jaden Smith is also rumored to be playing the role, although it hasn’t materialized so far.
Although currently the live-action film doesn’t yet have a director, this project already has a great producer. Launching The Hollywood Reporter, Michael B. Jordan has joined and will produce this film under the auspices of WarnerMedia, Outlier Society.
In his official statement, Jordan talked about how excited he is to be a part of creating a new universe of black superheroes. His comments seem to suggest that more of Milestone Comics’ characteristics will emerge in the future.
Static Shock Looks Like It Will Continue To Move Forward
Michael B. Jordan is no stranger to superhero genre films. He has played the role of Killmonger in the film Black Panther. Jordan has also produced and co-starred in the film Creed.
With Jordan’s great talent, it is highly unlikely that Static Shock will be forgotten in its development phase. Especially if later this film will open a bigger way to introduce the characters from Milestone Comics, of course it needs extra attention.
Apart from the news about Jordan joining, there is no additional information regarding the upcoming Static Shock live action film. The film will probably move faster by finding a director and of course actors to portray the character.
